  • Thank you so much for all you are doing.  Setting up constant teacher interaction, provision of equipment, group PE, and bringing outside resource for brilliant story telling.  It's been a journey, but Scotts Park have really led it this lockdown and we are truly appreciative of the input from teachers and behind the scenes getting this together.  Thank you sincerely.

ADMISSIONS 2027-2028 POLICY CONSULTATION

Please be advised that Orion Education Trust has been directed to consult on our Admissions Arrangements for 2027-2028 in accordance with statutory requirements set out in the School Admissions Code 2021.

In our ambition to improve outcomes, transform lives and enable social mobility, we have reviewed our over-subscription criteria for our family of schools, and this has been updated as part of our 2027-2028 Admissions Policy consultation. The admissions criteria is noted below with the changes in bold:

1.  Children Looked After (CLA)

2.  Students entitled to the Pupil Premium Grant or Service Premium Grant (up to 20% of the total places on offer)

3.  Sibling (sibling on roll at the proposed time of entry)

4.  Children of staff at the School

  • This now includes the newly opened school-based nurseries and the early years nursery staff within the definition of our skills shortage
  • Where the salaried staff member’s duties are undertaken at different schools the admission priority can only be at the one school where he/she works for more than 50% of their duties
  • 5.  PRIMARY SCHOOLS: Children attending the Primary’s school-based Nursery
Priority will be given to children who are on roll in an Orion Education Trust school-based nursery class at the time of application for a Reception place in the primary school and who continue to attend the feeder nursery up to the point of admission.

Feeder school-based nurseries:
Orion Blenheim, Orion Ravensworth, Orion Scotts Park

SECONDARY SCHOOLS:

Children attending an Orion Education Primary School (Bromley schools)

Priority will be given to children who are on roll in an Orion Education Trust primary feeder school at the time of application for a Year 7 place and who continue to attend the Orion primary school up to the point of admission.

Feeder schools

  • Orion Coopers: Primary Schools - Orion Blenheim, Mead Road, Ravensworth
  • The Ravensbourne School: Primary Schools - Orion Blenheim, Scotts Park

The draft Trust’s Schools Admissions Policies for 2027-2028 are attached and also available on our Trust website and our school websites.

As part of this 2027-2028 admission proposal, Orion Eden Park is also submitting a proposal to reduce their Published Admission Number to 180 places, along with an in-year variation to our pre-determined 2026-2027 Admission Policy with effect from 1 September 2026. No pupil who already has a place in Orion Eden Park will be affected by the proposed change.

Orion Coopers will be removing the banding process from its admissions and adopt the same admission policy with all our secondary schools across our Trust.

Please know that this decision has been driven by our desire to ensure the long-term success of all our students. During this consultation period, we encourage you to share your thoughts and any concerns you may have.

We are running the consultation regarding the changes from 19th December 2025 to 30th  January 2026.

We are consulting with:

  • Parents of children between the ages of two and eighteen
  • The Local Authority
  • Parents of students currently attending Orion Eden Park
  • Other persons in the relevant area who, in the opinion of the admission authority, have an interest in the proposed admissions arrangements
  • All other Admissions Authorities in the local area
