Personal Development
At Orion Scotts Park, we believe that growing as a person matters just as much as growing as a learner. From the moment children join us, we invest in their confidence, character, and sense of belonging — so every child leaves us ready for the world ahead.
Our Approach
Our personal development offer is built on a universal entitlement every child, regardless of background or need, receives the same rich provision. Core experiences are woven through the curriculum, assemblies, enrichment activities, and wider school life, so that personal development is not a one-off event but a thread running through every day.
On top of this shared foundation, each year group explores age-appropriate themes tailored to where children are in their development linked closely to PSHE, British Values, and Religious Education. This progressive approach means children deepen their understanding year on year, building knowledge, skills, and resilience in a way that feels meaningful and relevant to their lives.

PSCHE - A Progressive Journey
Our PSHE curriculum is built on the SCARF framework and revisits six core themes every year from Early Years to Year 6 going deeper each time. Children build on their knowledge year on year, developing the skills, language, and confidence they need to make safe and informed choices.

British Values
British Values are not a separate subject at Orion Scotts Park, they are lived out every day through our curriculum, assemblies, and the way we treat one another.

Wellbeing & Belonging
We actively listen to our community. Termly happiness audits and pupil surveys give every child a voice, helping us ensure every pupil feels safe, valued, and genuinely part of our school family.
Developing ourselves - recognising our strengths, celebrating our achievements, and lifting those around us is central to who we are at Orion Scotts Park. Whether it's sharing work in celebration assembly, auditioning for the talent show, being a buddy to a younger child, or earning a school values award, we create countless moments for every child to feel proud.
