School Council

At Orion Scotts Park Primary, we believe that pupil voice is a vital part of school life. Our School Council gives children the opportunity to represent their classmates, share ideas, and work together to make a positive difference in our school community.

Each class elects representatives from Years 2-6 who meet regularly to discuss important issues, suggest improvements, and plan projects that benefit everyone. By taking part, pupils learn that their opinions matter and that they can actively contribute to shaping their school.

Being part of the School Council is also an important part of pupils’ personal development. It helps children build confidence, learn to listen and respect different viewpoints, and develop leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Councillors act as role models for others, showing the importance of responsibility, respect, and working hard to achieve shared goals.

Through the School Council, we aim to empower pupils to become thoughtful, active citizens who understand the value of participation and collaboration, not just in school, but in the wider world.
